86’d: How A Global Pandemic Rocked The World’s Culinary Capital
Six-time Emmy Award winner Rob Petrone makes his directorial debut in this raw look at how COVID-19 impacted New York’s restaurants, capturing the fear, anger and resilience of New York’s restaurant community during the early months of this global pandemic.
Interviews with chefs, restaurateurs and others connected to the industry were conducted as events unfolded, creating a time capsule of the biggest story any of us have ever lived through. The moving target of a story takes us from the pandemic’s local “ground zero,” New Rochelle, to a linen supply company and even a one-woman farm, exposing the many ways restaurants impact our local economies.
